Our Poor Car

It's truly a mystery why animals on the highway between Monticello and Blanding commit suicide by running into our vehicles, but it has happened again! Luckily, the deer only dented the front panel and the passenger side door, but in all likelihood, it will cost more than we had budgeted, since the insurance never pays for all of it. Merry Christmas to us! (P.S. Note the temporary handicap parking sticker hanging from the rear view mirror. We are taking advantage of that for a few more weeks, then we go back to being ordinary people with ordinary walking abilities.)

Oh, that is so sad. It is a good thing Dad wasn't hurt, but I seem to remember him being pretty good at handling crazy car mishaps pretty calmly. I remember a tire blowing out in the brown van outside of Grand Junction on a trip home (I think possibly from Washington D.C.?). He just gradually decelerated and pulled casually off the freeway. Maybe those prayers we always said before trips had something to do with that also.

Cows, bears, deer, Dad attracts them all. So glad he is safe, but sorry about the car.

I think we all are a little bit handycapped! jk You would think those deer would have learned by now!
