Drew's visit

I don't know how to label my pictures yet on the blog but the first one is Gavin when he saw Grandma Gail's foot. That's kind of how I looked when I first saw it after the cast was removed. Jast a little bit sick to my stomach. The other pictures are self explanitory.

Last week Drew and Joaquin came to visit. It was nice to have them come even if it was only for a few days. Gail had a follow up appointment with her foot doctor in Payson on the 14th. We drove up to Spanish Fork Monday evening. The doctor visit went well. They cut off her cast and gave her a walking boot which is lighter and more managable. The doctor said everthing looked good with the post op xray. He manipulated her toe and ankle and showed Gail how to do the same. The foot looked pretty bad to me as the photos show. Cool stitches and scars though. The problem however was that now the foot was no longer cushioned by the cast and exposed to the air etc. Gail had worse pain than she's ever had and having had 6 babies and other surgeries that's saying alot. The Percoset didn't phase the pain. She had to take a bunch of Ibuprofen with the pain pills to get any relief. The doctor called in a different prescription and it helped a little but she had problems with being nauseous as well. On Wed morning the 15th, I picked Drew and Joaquin up at the airport. Drew, Tim and I were able to go golfing at Spanish Oaks while Gail and Nancy watched Joaquin. We drove back to Blanding that evening. On Thursday and Friday Worthy Jr., Drew and I went golfing at the Hideout in Monticello while Nan watched Joaquin. We sort of had a BYU football party to watch the BYU/TCU game Thursday night. The problem was that BYU forgot to show up and the party was a bust by half time. Drew got to play guitar hero over at Kd and Clay's place Friday night and had a good time. On Saturday Drew played golf again with Worthy Jr while Gail and I babysat and thenI took Drew and Joaquin to SLC to catch their midnight flight. We sure have been blessed with the world's greatest children, son and daughter inlaws and grandchildren. Thanks for all that our families and friends do to brighten our lives.

You're welcome, and thank you
. Did you all know, besides taking Drew to the airport, dad drove all the way to Billings to fix Grandpa Asay's walking stick. He just got home this morning, but look at him blog. A pretty good post, too, I think.

If you have the best kids (and I think you do) it is because we have the best parents! Love you, Dad (and Mom).

I sure hope Gail is doing better - that looks so sore! We loved seeing you last week Worthy, even if it was for a short time.
